Join me at the Maine Jung Center where I will bring creation stories from indigenous traditions around the world into the room, guiding us inward to find our own, and inviting each of us to shape our story in a medium of our choosing, from poem or song to movement, drawing, or collage, and then share it with the group.
Many groups of people have creation stories that explore how the world and/or all beings came to be here. We will explore some indigenous creation stories from around the world, allowing them to continue to speak to us. Then, we will take time to tune into our psyches about our own personal creation stories - each one of us has our own story of creation.
Who are we? Where did we come from? How did we become the person we are now? Our personal creation stories may be related to significant moments in our life that shaped us into who we are. We will tune into our psyche to see how psyche wants to tell our story.
Then, with the medium of our choice, we will be invited to create our own creation story! For some this might mean a written poem or song, for some a dance or movement, for others a drawing, painting, or collage, and so on. After we create, we’ll have the opportunity to share our creation stories with each other.
