Shamanic Circle Songs
This page includes some of the songs that we sing in the HeartSong Journey Group. Many were written by my first shamanic teacher, Rena Yount. Click the song title to be taken to a recording of the song.
Members of the Washington Area Drumming Group (WADG) recorded some of these songs Circle Songs by Rena Yount and Friends in April 2014 and they are available at the links below.
The Web Holds Us
Lyrics by Rena Yount; Music by Anne Hill
The Web holds us,
We hold the Web,
All Beings joined
By a golden thread.
From ocean depths
To the Stars above,
Web of Light,
Web of Love.
Sing the Lady’s Praises (aka The Third Song)
By Rena Yount
I have seen Death with a seed in Her hand,
Sing the Lady's Praises.
There where the ancient apple trees stand,
Sing the Lady's Praises.
My every loss shall give me wings,
Sing the Lady's Praises.
My bitterest tears shall feed the spring,
Sing the Lady's Praises.
The heights and the depths, they shall be one,
Sing the Lady's Praises.
Beyond the Moon, beyond the Sun,
Sing the Lady's Praises.
White horse runs by the apple tree,
Sing the Lady's Praises.
The rider is singing and the singer is me,
Singing the Lady's Praises.
Death is the doorkeeper, Death is the door,
Sing the Lady's Praises.
Until Her name be Death no more,
Sing the Lady's Praises…
